Your First Consultation

What to Expect as a New Patient

When you visit our office for your free consultation, Dr. Dailey will evaluate your symptoms and provide you with a sleep monitor to take home. A qualified sleep doctor will review the results of your test and determine if you suffer from sleep apnea.

After you receive an official diagnosis, you’ll return to our practice so Dr. Dailley can work with you to develop an ideal treatment plan that fits your needs.

Treatment Options

In many cases, the first treatment recommended for sleep apnea is a CPAP mask. Worn while you sleep, this mask is attached to a device that pumps a continuous stream of pressurized air into your lungs, allowing you to breathe overnight.

Though CPAP is effective when it’s used correctly, many patients stop using their machine because it’s too inconvenient. In addition to being loud, bulky, and uncomfortable, CPAP forces you to sleep on your back and it’s a pain to travel with.

That’s why we feature a range of customized oral appliances as an alternative to CPAP. Also known as mandibular advancement devices (MADs), these appliances gently shift your lower jaw forward to keep your airway open while you sleep.

Compared to CPAP, these devices are far more comfortable and less invasive. They’re also easily portable, don’t make any noise, and allow you to sleep in any position you want. As a result, oral appliances offer instant relief if you’re struggling with your CPAP mask.
